Never make the mistake of playing Texas hold em without a sound hold em betting strategy!

The number of people who want to play professional poker is on the increase due to the vast exposure on television and the huge amount of books available on it. The players are not able to apply the hold em betting strategy that they have learnt from the books into proper practice. This is especially true when you look to compare cash games and tournament poker.

By being aware of the differences between the two types of games, you can employ a sound strategy to get the odds in your favor and make money. Are you always going to be getting in with the best hand? Once you are in, the odds you have will have an impact on the call.

In tournament poker, you have to use a different no limit hold em betting strategy than that you would in a cash game. The one major difference is that once you are felted, you are out of the game and cannot buy back in. This will change the way that you look at going all in on a draw. An unspoken rule of tournament poker is never to go all out in a draw until your odds are good. If you miss in a cash game, you buy back in and you are ready to go.
